IOS, Android or windows Epos till systems?
This partly comes down to which system you prefer and are used to, but cost is also a factor.
- IOS systems typically cost more for the hardware, and the software is also usually more expensive.
- Android systems are normally cheaper and there are more options in the market for both screens and software.
- Windows are again a little more expensive than an Android system.
We offer all options and in our view Android systems provide the best value, but we know some people love using Apple, so in the end, the choice is yours.
Epos till systems – Hardware
Screen size is important and if you are running a busy business, then 15” screens will be best. Pubs, restaurants and busy bars are where we’d recommend this size. For cafe’s, coffee shops and smaller outlets, then 10” screens or tablets will do the job.
Printers are also important, and many screens come with printers built in
Kitchen printers / screens – Most kitchens use printers, but increasingly some are opting for screens, where you can swipe away orders and view them on different size screens. We offer both at Breathe Payments.
Card machines for Epos till systems
There are now various options on this front to help you better run your business and take orders and payments…
- Non connected Card machines can come detached from the system and don’t talk to the Epos system. This is good for flexible service but can lead to errors.
- Connected card machines link to the Epos system so once the order is pressed, then the card machine knows how much to charge. This saves time and reduces errors.
- App on device – This is where you can download the Epos app to the card machine and use it as an extension of your Epos till system. So, the card machine screen has your menu and can take and send orders to the main till and kitchen.
QR code ordering on Epos till systems
You can now use the same system to take orders direct from customers without any hardware or servers needed.
Customers just click on the QR code, place the order and pay using their mobile phone. Orders drop straight into the same screens at the bar, counter or kitchen. This is a good way to speed up service and increase sales.
Online ordering for take aways 
Using the same technology as QR code ordering, the system can also manage orders for collection or delivery to manage take aways. But rather than using a QR code, the menu sits on your website to allow customers to place orders and pay.
The QR code and online ordering system are part of the Epos system, so it’s an easy way to manage your face to face and online orders all in one place.
